THE IMPACT OF THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) ON OUR SERVICES.
Following the government's announcement, all companies in the Transport sector are considered as Key Workers
and need to keep the
country moving.
Each of us is aware of the rapidly changing situation around the Covid-19 virus both in the UK and Europe.
Guided by information from
world renowned sources, such as the World Health Organization, the UK Government, Public Health England and
the
NHS, which now
regularly provide regular news updates offering advice and guidance to both individuals and companies.
The safety of our customers, employees and transport partners is of most importance. We are constantly
monitoring the coronavirus
situation (COVID19) and we will follow all government advice and take the necessary steps to prevent further
spread of the virus.
AFTER A RECENT GOVERNMENT STATEMENT, WE WANTED TO ASSURE YOU THAT DELIVERIES ARE STILL GOING AS PLANNED.
WE ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO ASSIST IN DELIVERIES AND HOME MOVES.
Most recent government easing measures are allowing removal businesses to operate more widely, with some
adjustments being made
to our usual procedure, to maximise the safety of our transporters and customers.
The latest biggest news has come from come the property market.
When it comes to being able to move home, England’s property market has been released from some elements of
the
lockdown. With this in
mind, here are some key takeaways from the most recent announcement:
No work should be carried out by a person(s) who is displaying coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
No work should be carried out in the property of someone who is self-isolating or has coronavirus symptoms
and
has not been in isolation for
a minimum of 2 weeks.
Although it may be a nice gesture, you should not provide refreshments for the removers, but please ensure
that
a handwashing facility is
available.
We are continuing to do everything we can to support our customers, partners, the NHS, frontline staff and
key
workers.
THE IMPACT OF THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) ON OUR WORK.
Please read carefully the following changes due to the Covid-19 virus threat - changes to revocation.
From an operational point of view, we have taken measures and will continue to take them, to mitigate any
impact on the services that we
have committed to perform for our customers with the highest level of safety measures.
We have developed guidelines for our transporters with the utmost security measures, to limit the spread of
Covid-19 using simple guidelines
provided by Public Health England and the NHS.
WE'VE UPDATED OUR PROCESSES, TO HELP AND ENSURE MAXIMUM SAFETY FOR BOTH OUR CUSTOMERS AND TRANSPORTERS.
We have provided self-loading options where our customers can opt to load and unload themselves, in order to
avoid direct contact with our
transporters.
If you need help with loading and unloading, prepare your items for transportation (items should be packed,
secured, and ready for collection).
Whilst the removers are in your home, keep internal doors open windows too if possible.
If at all possible, leave your items that we need to collect outside your property, or alternatively leave
them
in 1 room, e.g the front room, so
that our transporters will only come into contact with just the 1 room in your property.
"The customer does not help" - in order to avoid direct contact with our transporters, we recommend that you
request for at least 2 helpers
to assist with loading and offloading, especially where you have items that cannot be safely carried by 1
person. However should prefer to
help rather than pay for an additional helper, we kindly request you wear a face covering and gloves at all
times.
DUE TO THE HIGH RISK ASSOCIATED WITH CORONAVIRUS, WE HAVE LIMITED OUR SERVICE FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CLIENTS
AND
EMPLOYEES.
At present, we do not recommend our clients travel with the transporter(s) in the van, unless it’s
absolutely
necessary and they are wearing
gloves and a facial covering, at drivers discretion.
At present we are recommending you dismantle all large items of furniture prior to our transporters arrival,
to
minimise the amount of time
our transporters spend at your property.
We have also introduced live chat, as the majority of our booking and customer care staff are now working
from
home, which as you can
understand may be a noisy environment, as most young children are currently at home in lockdown.
FOLLOW THE RULES OF HYGIENE AND SAFETY WHEN USING OUR TRANSPORT SERVICES:
Keep at least a 2 metre distance from our transporters if at all possible, for your safety and ours.
Wear a facial covering - which reduces the risk of spreading the virus should any party be infected.
Wear gloves - at all times during the move.
Wash your hands often with soap and water or a disinfectant which contains alcohol.
We recommend online payments or pay drivers by card who carry card payment terminals, to avoid direct
contact
with money which, as we all
know, is the largest source of bacteria.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if you haven’t recently washed your hands.
Avoid all close contact with everyone, especially greetings that include physical contact, e.g. handshakes.
When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue if available, if not, bend your elbow and
cough into it, ensure to dispose
of the tissue safely, and wash your hands.
Make sure that you and our transporter(s) have a safe and a hygienic workplace.
Take the highest precautions so as not to expose yourself and others.
Follow the government's recommendations.
WE KNOW THAT THERE WILL BE A NEED FOR SOME FLEXIBILITY ON BOTH SIDES, WE HAVE THEREFORE MODIFIED SOME OF OUR
RULES.
For bookings that cannot be completed on the original booked date due to coronavirus, we will allow for a
FREE
change of date and time that
works for you and our Transporter(s).
We will update this page with any new information from the Government.
